Africa’s diamond mining sector continues to glitter judging from recent exploration and development activities in Namibia. An increase in rough diamond prices, supported by a rebound in Namibia’s diamond production, is also projected to help drive the southwest African country’s economy, which is expected to grow 4 percent in 2010. Mining production in South Africa also enjoyed an 11 percent growth in March 2010, with diamonds among the main contributors to the increase with 1.3 percent.
