The Indian Institute of Gems & Jewellery (IIGJ) officially opened its second training centre in Tardeo, Mumbai. The centre was inaugurated by Rajiv Jain, chairman of the Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC); Vasant Mehta, chairman of IIGJ; Sanjay Kothari, vice chairman of GJEPC; Sabyasachi Ray, executive director of GJEPC; and Namita Pandya, convener of IIGJ Tardeo.
“We are planning to bring all IIGJ training centres under one platform. Currently, IIGJ centres offer different programmes and curricula, but we intend to bring the entire syllabus and certification of different training centres under one umbrella,” Mehta was quoted as saying by GJEPC.
To date, IIGJ has two training centres in Mumbai, and one each in New Delhi and Jaipur. Basic and advanced jewellery design

courses are being offered by the institute.
